This position is part of the NNSA - Livermore Field Office, Department of Energy. A successful candidate in this position will serve as the Security Specialist, providing planning and technical expertise to the AMSS Team in the implementation and management of the Safeguards & Security (S&S) Survey Program and supporting functions under the authority of the NA-LL.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-03 or GS-14 level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: knowledge and skill in application of advanced concepts, principles, and practices of multiple security disciplines, to include physical, information, operations, and personnel security, as well as the topical and sub-topical areas identified in DOE Survey/Inspections sufficient to serve as the Field Office authority in development, interpretation, and application of traditional and novel technical concepts pertaining to the implementation, operation, and evaluation of all aspects of the NNSA Safeguards and Security System under Livermore Field Office authority.
Examples of Specialized Experience:
Reviewing and interpreting laws, regulations, policies, precedents, methods and techniques of financial management in the areas of budgeting and cost analysis.
Representing organization to client group(s) and leaders: serving as subject matter expert on matters that involve complex security technical subject matter expertise.
Performing highly analytical, complex, and multi-dimensional and complex analysis of physical security systems.
Developing, assessing, and continuously improving systems and processes to achieve greater efficiencies and improve internal controls.
Designing and providing training on new security assessment methodologies.
