You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the of MARINE CORPS WARFIGHTING LABORATORY MARINE CORPS COMBAT DEVELOPMENT CMD.
Duties
You will serves as the principal expert and advisor for all matters relative to the command’s Special Compartmented Information (SCI) and Collateral security program including industrial, information, physical, and personnel.
You will manage TS/SCI personnel clearances and processes.
You will coordinate with appropriate offices and personnel to include the command security manager to assess command personnel and authorizes appropriate level SCI access based upon adjudicated eligibility.
You will coordinate or perform functions and tasks involved in the development, evaluation, implementation, or execution of information security programs with the objective of detecting and preventing hostile intelligence penetration.
You will be responsible for protecting national security information and assets at all levels up to SCI classification.
You will perform a full range of administrative and supervisory duties (e.g. work planning, evaluating performance of subordinates, providing guidance and instructions to subordinates on administrative and technical matters)

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain DoD’s Security Professional Education Development (SPeD), Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Physical Security Certification (PSC) within one year of employment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain the Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) certification within two years of employment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain the DoD’s Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC) within three years of employment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: identifying security gaps through the evaluation of data via security reviews and inspections AND performing implementation and development of security programs with the mission of safeguarding classified information, systems, and sensitive operations.
