You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (Special Access Programs) of HELICOPTER MARITIME STRIKE WING PAC. Salary Clarification: GS-11 $82,633 - $107,421 GS-12 $99,044 - $128,752

Duties

You will manage all Special Access Programs (SAP) and facilities within Commander Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Pacific, and provide day-to-day security, management and oversight. You will be the technical advisor to the Commodore and have full responsibility for the SAP security programs within the wing. You will manage and administer personnel security, physical security, information security, industrial security and communication security for all SAP's. You will be responsible for subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance and work assignments. You will prepare, adjudicate, and submit packages for access to Special Access Programs. You will assist the Command Security Manager with monitoring command policies and procedures for handling of classified and sensitive material. You will assist the Command Physical Security Officer on physical security within the command to meet SAP requirements. You will inspect. analyze, and evaluate security systems for use with associated SAP facilities and Temporary Secure Working Areas (TSWA's)

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing and executing the implementation of specialized security procedures of the various disciplines (e.g. storage, accountability, control, dissemination, transmission, destruction) of Special Access Programs and facilities. For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and applying specialized security procedures of the various disciplines (e.g. storage, accountability, control, dissemination, transmission, destruction) of Special Access Programs and facilities. Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
