This OPTICAL INSTRUMENT REPAIRER position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility and is part of the CA CSMS Long Beach.

Duties

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the OPTICAL INSTRUMENT REPAIRER, WG-3306-10, is to perform maintenance, repair, and inspections on optical and non-optical precision instruments and related devices.

Qualifications

General Experience: Possess experience or training that has provided the candidate with the ability to apply knowledge of optical theory and construction principles in order to test, repair, align, and collimate a variety of complex optical equipment; Experience which demonstrates the ability to understand and apply instructions, and specifications; and interpret blueprints and diagrams of optical paths and mechanical linkages; Experience using hand and power tools common to an optical shop. OPTICAL INSTRUMENT REPAIRER, WG-3306-10: Must have at least 18 months experience or training repairing, rebuilding, overhauling systems and components of optical instrument equipment; Experience in diagnosing malfunction in determining remedy where complex relationships exist among optical systems and supporting mechanical and electrical systems; Experience in the use of a variety of measuring and testing equipment; Experience interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, schematics and work orders Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: Ability To InspectKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Trouble Shooting
