This position is located within the Veteran Transportation Service at the VA Medical Center/Health Care System (VAMC/HCS) with several Community Based Outpatient Clinics in El Paso, TX. The incumbent reports directly to the Supervisor, Mobility Manager ant the VA Medical Center. This position is a Transportation Coordinator at the facility level and acts as the primary contact to Veterans for transportation needs.
Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Determines eligibility for the program and processes requests;
Enters authorizations and maintains manual and electronic accounting records;
Determines method of payment for authorized and unauthorized ambulance claims;
Receives invoices for payment of transportation services;
Writes or selects appropriate letters explaining disposition of unauthorized travel claims;
Balances, reconciles, and adjusts invoices for payment;
Reconciles vouchers against authorizations for accuracy;
Work with fellow Business Office staff, other administrative staff and clinical personnel as professionals and team members;
Responds to client requests and seeks resolution of family/patient/employee complaints; and
Performs other duties as assigned
Work Schedule: M-F 8:00am - 4:45pm

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of a Transportation Assistant. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-4) in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is determining eligibility for travel; entering travel authorizations; receiving invoices for payment of transportation services; reconciling travel vouchers; responding to client requests; and resolving complaints. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month & year starting and ending dates AND hours worked per week.

EDUCATION (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Successfully completed four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.

COMBINATION (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: Some mobility between various Clinic areas in sperate building location sites, but generally the job is sedentary with some standing, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds. Employee with be required to work with computer equipment at least 75 % of the time which impacts on the and wrist motions.
