You will serve as a Supervisory Work and Family Life Specialist in the Community Programs Department of NAVAL STATION EVERETT.
Duties
You will advise customers on work-life services programs (e.g., career, transition, relocation, personal financial management, employment, community life, emergency and crisis assistance, personal and family readiness).
You will monitor work and family life staff assignments to ensure status, progress, timeliness, quantity, and quality of work meet mission objectives
You will implement family support programs and workshops to meet the needs of an organization.
You will develop proactive programs directed at relieving stress and enhancing family life.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- Positions that are supervisory/ managerial require that first time supervisors/managers complete a one-year trial/probationary period if not previously completed in a competitive or other excepted service position.
- Travel by Military and Public conveyances may be required.
- Incumbent may be required to travel on Return and Reunion trips and board Naval Vessels.

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a behavioral or social science degree, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position being filled; OR a combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field; OR four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying the concepts, principles and theories of social services delivery systems in work/life programs; 2) Interviewing clients to facilitate realistic career, transition, relocation, and other life and work choices; and 3) Delivering human services intended to enhance the stability and self-sufficiency of individuals and families. Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must posses:
Successfully completed a behavioral or social science degree, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position being filled.

Combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
