The Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Inspector General is currently looking for an Investigator (ICTAP) in the Office of Inspections, Intelligence Oversight, and Special Projects (OIIS). Join our professional team of inspectors, investigators, and hotline analysts who help support DOE's mission through performance-based and allegation-based inspections of management issues and administrative allegations.

As an Investigator, you will:

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • This employer participates in the e-Verify program.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • May be required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
  • Must obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
  • The position is a Drug Testing Designated position and is subject to preemployment and random drug testing.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Investigator experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service providing support of criminal prosecutions and civil or administrative judgments. Specific work experience must demonstrate the following: Recognize, develop, and present evidence in a report of administrative and/or reprisal investigations to reconstruct events in sequence and analyze evidence according to governing statute and regulation; Prepare and edit reports and testimony applicable to investigations, investigative policies, and procedures supporting the investigative process. Utilize comprehensive knowledge of investigative and analytical techniques in conducting investigative fact-finding and gathering of pertinent data to identify issues that warrant investigation from written materials provided by complainant and other witnesses.
