This position is located at the Department of Veterans Affairs, at W.G Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. within Prosthesic and Sensory Aid and serves as a Program Support Clerk. The Program Support Clerk support and manage the operational, process, and fund controls of the VA Medical Center Prosthetics and Sensory Aids special program funding, VBA Home Improvement Structural Alterations, Automobile Adaptive Equipment, Clothing Allowance Programs.
Duties
Major duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assists the Chief in planning, developing and adjusting the program in such a way as to provide services and appliances to eligible and entitled beneficiaries, from the appropriate source and in a timely manner, which benefits both the veteran and the VA.
Compiles and prepares a variety of special administrative and statistical reports which are for local, VISN or Central office needs. This includes non-recurring reports and surveys where there is no precedent and where guidelines have not been established. Analyzes and reviews such reports to inform Prosthetic Facility Service Manager of any areas of concern which might impact on services budgetary priorities or overall mission.
Performs office maintenance duties such as, preparing requisitions for office supplies, ordering office equipment and publications, requesting work orders, submitting special equipment and other resource requests to the requesting office, preparing necessary forms to dispose of boxes containing documents for shredding, and organizing and maintaining P&SAS filing system following the RCS-10 regulations and systematic filling and/or scanning of P&SAS reconciled purchase orders and invoices.
Establishes, updates, purges, distributes and maintains files for the service such as vendor files, directives, manuals, incoming correspondence etc. and maintains suspense file for all service reports and due dates.
Assisting in the planning review, and reporting of statistical data results of program studies and serving as the timekeeper for assigned T&Ls, initiating, and maintains all required records.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/17/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performing data collections, corroborations, and evaluations, tracking of variety of program expenses, utilizing computer equipment with varies software, producing letters, memorandums, analyzing problems and present written and oral recommendation.

Physical Requirements: The work requires constant walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items such as books, medical devices/supplies, papers, and files.
