Duties

You will design Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems and develop system documentation. You will conduct studies to determine the nature of problems connected with automating work processes. You will recommend best business practices for managing organizational data and information. You will install, configure and maintain database management system software. You will function as a Software Programmer/Developer with responsibility for new design, minor/major database/software modifications and standard maintenance of application software. You will conduct analysis and present reports with recommendations to resolve problems and issues.

• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) researching, interpreting, and carrying out computer scientist assignments; 2) collecting and analyzing data to solve problems, develop reports, and provide recommendations; AND 3) providing technical input on the development of software or computing systems. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

OR

Bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
