Duties
Assist in preparing and measuring radioactive sources for use as standards in applications in medicine, nuclear security, nuclear energy, and
fundamental research. Prepare and maintain laboratories for routine work associated with preparation of radioactive standards. Prepare non-radioactive solutions for use in development of standards. Assist in recording and analysis of test data, preparation of test reports. Assist in operating laboratory equipment, including routine measurements for instrument QA/QC.

Qualifications
IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION, APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
One year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-8 (ZT-II at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as experience in basic statistics; analysis of laboratory data; handling chemicals in a laboratory environment
OR
Master's degree in a field of study that is directly related to the work of the position
OR
Two full years of graduate education (36 semester hours) in a field of study that is directly related to the work of the position
OR
An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education. Graduate education must be in a field of study that is directly related to the work of the position.
