You will serve as a Fire Protection Inspector in the Fire and Emergency Services Division of NVSUPPACTMID SOUTH.
Duties
You will perform visual inspections of assigned areas (e.g., buildings, structures, aircraft hangar) for violations of fire codes (e.g., fire hazards, housekeeping, defective wiring).
You will develop and conduct training courses for military personnel, dependents, home care providers, civilian employees, and contractors on fire safety practices and procedures.
You will evaluate engineering plans and specifications on new and modification construction structures.
You will prepare inspection reports to document findings of fire safety deficiencies.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Inspecting buildings and facilities to identify fire hazards and implement corrective actions; 2) Identifying hazardous conditions or practices, evaluating degree of hazard involved, and determining appropriate action to be taken; 3) Developing and conducting training courses on fire safety practices and procedures for military or civilian employees, contractors, and dependents; and 4) Providing guidance to supervisors, employees, and the general populace on fire safety and fire protection. NOTE: This experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for this position.
This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I and II, HAZMAT Awareness, Fire Inspector I and II, Fire Instructor I. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Also requires National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT).
