About the Position: Serve as an administrative officer, directly supporting the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals (ASBCA) Recorder.

Duties

Provide agenda and pre-brief material to personnel; attends meetings, conferences, video teleconferences, and accurately documents minutes. Resolve a wide variety of administrative policy and process conflicts among organizational units by establishing office procedures and processes that meet all stakeholders needs. Analyze, develop, and implement new administrative processes and procedures to improve the accuracy, adequacy, and timeliness of information and systems for Recorder’s office programs. Ensure correspondence, reports, travel orders, etc. are processed correctly and expeditiously. Receives, distributes, and dispatches all office mail, hard-copy and electronic, to include special handling, such as certified, registered, or express mail. Provide administrative support on automated travel systems such as the Defense Travel System.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes provide administrative support on travel coordination and/or expenses such as serving as a Government Purchase Card holder; review and maintain correspondence for filing in an office database such as an electronic case management system; and manage a budget using automated systems such as General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
