The selectee of this position serves as a Prisoner Transportation Assistant (OA) responsible for responsible for coordinating the transportation and movement of sentenced and un-sentenced federal prisoners in the custody of the United States Marshals Service District offices located throughout the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
This position is located in the Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation Systems (JPATS) / Kansas City, MO.
Duties
As a Prisoner Transportation Assistant (OA) at the GS-0303-7 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Under direct supervision and in conjunction with Standard Operating Procedures and applicable transportation directives, assists in the routing of detainees through the national transportation scheduling system.
Coordinates paperwork and preparatory activities required for transportation of prisoners.
Reviews transportation reports and completes required actions to correlate national transportation records with transportation records of other agencies.
Conducts data entry, retrieval and report construction as required.

Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable determination of suitability for a Public Trust position.
- May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.
- This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply.
To qualify at the GS-7 grade level, you must meet the following:
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties:
Maintaining a variety of files and records;
Completing administrative duties such as data entry and retrieval; and
Using office automation equipment and various software packages.
AND
Typing Requirement: To qualify for this position, you must have a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute. Words per minute are based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You must self-certify your typing speed.
