Duties

Patrol Branch Direct the work to ensure that 24/7/365 support of all daily Patrol distribution requirements are met. Develops employee performance standards Coordinates emergency responses between assigned patrol officers, fire, and other emergency units Implement provisions of controlling laws, regulations and policies as they pertain to law enforcement requirements Takes appropriate action to improve workflow, law enforcement, and services rendered Performs all duties of a police officer by patrolling area of responsibility Takes charge of crime or accident scenes

Requirements

  • Must complete Law Enforcement Academy certification training within 12 months of employment.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
  • Must complete a supervisory probationary period of 52 weeks.
  • This a drug testing designated position (TDP), subject to initial urinalysis and annual, thereafter.
  • This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. drivers license.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment.
  • This position requires Firearms qualification testing.
  • Incumbent is required to wear a uniform that must be clean and possess a sharp and crisp appearance.
  • This position requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in case of chemical/hazardous emergency.
  • Incumbent must meet the minimum standards IAW AR 190-56.
  • This position requires successful completion of the United States Army Civilian Police Academy, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
  • Incumbent must pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter.
  • Incumbent must successfully complete for National Incident Management System (NIMS) training requirements.
  • Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals. IAW Section 639 of PL 106-554.
