This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence and Analysis (l&A), Office of Partnerships, Field Intelligence Directorate (FID). The incumbent will remain at current duty station and will be expected to relocate beginning in the FY26-29 timeframe.

Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Deputy Regional Director (DRD) for the South-Central Region of DHS's Office of Intelligence and Analysis, Field Intelligence Directorate (FID). The DRD will supervise geographically dispersed Intelligence Officers assigned to State and Major Urban Area Fusion Centers and those personnel assigned to other state and local partners. The Intelligence Officers support fusion centers, state, local, tribal, territorial and private sector partners (SLTTP), and DHS Components, by providing national-level intelligence support and sharing, as well as guide the management and implementation of the intelligence cycle, in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and authorities, amongst fusion centers and other SLTTP partners. DUTIES INCLUDE:

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
  • This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Drug-Free Workplace Program.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Overtime may be required in response to a significant event.
  • Overnight Travel of 1-5 nights per month may be required.
  • A mobility agreement is required.

Qualifications

To qualify for the maximum GS-14 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. To qualify for this position, you must have one year of specialized experience which is defined as providing leadership to State and Major Urban Area Fusion Centers (Fusion Centers) and advocating for Fusion Center information needs with law enforcement and intelligence organizations. Such experience may include: - Develop and recommend procedures for evaluating the information holdings of state and local partners, to include non-traditional sources of information residing in State and Local governments. - Ensure compliance with statues and regulations for handling classified information, intelligence oversight and third-party access and release form a fusion center.

Education

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
