You will serve as a COMMUNITY PLANNER in the Defense Policy Review Initiative (DPRI)/Pacific Posture Hawaii office of MARCORPS NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION.

Duties
You will support the acquisition, design, and construction of real property facilities, providing management and other work to complete Military Construction (MILCON) projects in support of DPIR actions.
You will utilize program and planning documents in determining real property facility requirements.
You will identity and develop land use designations based on functional relationships, compatibility and development constraints.
You will ensure all aspect of design and developments have been considered in MILCON projects including man-made and operational constraints, AT/FP, utilities, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, storm water and low impact development, etc.,
You will develop cost estimates for individual and large-scale MILCON and Special Projects; determine requirements and cost of Operations and Maintenace (O and M) require for various base support functions.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Providing technical expertise in acquisition, design, construction, maintenance, repair, and requirements for real property facilities; 2) Performing technical reviews of planning reports and products to ensure construction project objectives are met; and 3) Conducting short- and long-range operational planning (e.g., determining real property facility requirements, developing cost estimates, leading initiatives, monitoring execution) in support of facility construction project programming.

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:
1. Degree: community planning; or related field such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance.
Note: Applicants with degrees in related fields, such as those listed above, who do not have the 12 semester hours of specified course work must have had at least 1 year of work experience in community planning acquired under the supervision and guidance of a community planner.
OR
2. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in one of the above disciplines, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the above disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
