These positions are in the Office of Air and Radiation, Office of Transportation and Air Quality, Testing and Advanced Technology Division, Testing Services Center. About Office of Air and Radiation: OAR This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.*EPA offers work-from-home and work schedule flexibilities as described in the Benefits section.

Qualifications

NOTE:  You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-11 level, you must have one of the following: 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-10 level defined as conducting bench-top tests of environmental data and sample environmental data; developing practical testing and sampling methods for the collection and analysis of environmental data; and communicating results and findings in written and/or oral reports. 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree; or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; the education must be directly related and provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position equivalent combination of education and experience Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:  Knowledge of testing and sampling methods for producing environmental data. Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Skill in analyzing study samples. Skill in developing practical non-standard testing and sampling methods. Skill in maintaining laboratory and/or field equipment. Ability to define training objectives. Skill in written communication. Skill in oral communication. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
