You will serve as a Threat Emulation Specialist responsible for performing the development, maintenance, and execution of exercises and supporting materials in accordance with the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) user's guide. You will carry out assignments to process all-source material and produce intelligence to meet U.S. government needs. This position is located at Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG), OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL in Twentynine Palms, California.

Duties

You will collect information from multiple sources to assess the relevance and significance of developments in targeting of regional threats. You will perform Open-Source (OSINT) exploitation techniques through research and data mining. You will develop personal expertise to fill gaps in existing intelligence experience (i.e. open source intelligence [OSINT]). You will prepare simulation and analytical tools including the Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), Command and Control Personal Computer (C2PC), and Analyst Notebook. You will provide realistic injects from multiple sources in support of training exercises. You will collaborate with other national agencies to discuss production requirements and provide feedback.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a two-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • Shift work with CONUS and OCONUS travel.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Integrate the intelligence warfighting functions into exercise design and development and into the specific scenarios designed and executed to accomplish training objectives for elements within the Ground Combat Element (GCE); Coordinate with internal sections and external units to provide intelligence support for exercises, preparing simulation and analytical tools such as the Joint Conflict & Tactical Simulation (JCATS), Command and Control Personal Computer (C2PC), and Analyst Notebook to meet current and projected program requirements; Conduct research and analysis of adversary military capabilities and terrorist groups in order to assess emerging intelligence threats and tactics.
