About the Position: This is a position with the Defense Health Agency, Naval Hospital, Directorate of Material Management, Agana Heights, Guam.

Duties

Perform warehouse duties including the operation of a forklift, stake truck, and pick-up truck. Must be able to perform all functions of the warehouse workers in order to maintain workflow operations during times of increased shipments/deliveries, department requests/demands and absence of subordinates. Ensure that proper shelf life and refrigerated receiving, storing, handling, issuing, and delivering procedures are followed to preclude the loss of material due to deterioration and/or expiration. Recognize and analyzes problems, establishes priorities and deadlines, and adapts, develops or implements procedures and techniques as required. Verify stock levels to determine potential negative impact if the items are provided.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a license to operate forklift, pick up, and stake truck.
  • A pre-employment physical is required.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 70 lbs is required.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
  • A job offer to an applicant who is not a current employee subject to this requirement will be withdrawn if the candidate refuses to undergo immunization screening.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Required handling weights up to 70 pounds. Average weights handles are 45 pounds. The distance of carries is from a truck to a pallet during the unloading of supplies. Hand trucks, hand pallets, electrical forklifts, and other personnel serve to assist in loading and unloading operations, and the movement of supplies and material about the storage area. Working Conditions: Work requirements are mostly within the confines of the warehouse. Incumbent is exposed to possible occupational injuries that could result from improper or careless stowage of supplies. Occasionally exposed to injuries that might be sustained in the area where highly flammable material and toxic acids are stored. Possible hazards exist where careless handling of toxic acids would result in breakage. All weather driving conditions. Occasionally exposed to cold/inclement weather in loading and unloading materials.
