To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-12:One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing contractor submittals, such as shop drawings, samples and data for compliance with contract documents; 2) Conducting field surveillance to assess contractor's work performance; 3) Recommend necessary changes or improvements to construction designs and/or specifications; and 4) Participating in contract negotiations and /or meetings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
