About the Position: Serves as the principle administrative and clerical support for the Division Chief.

Duties
Maintains Division Chief's calendar and schedules appointments based on knowledge of supervisor's interest and commitments.
Reads outgoing correspondence for procedural and grammatical accuracy.
Uses word processing and other types of software (spreadsheets, database, graphics, etc.), to process and produce a wide range of documents.
Uses financial software for processing of documents for the division’s labor and operating budget expenses to include training, travel, rent,
equipment, etc.; and maintains appropriate files as support documentation.
Coordinates division meetings involving contacts both inside and outside the division, i.e., with federal and state agencies, the public,
division personnel, and other District personnel.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education/ experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must also meet the specialized experience as required by the job announcement:
Specialized Experience: GS-07: I one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Maintaining a calendar showing appointments, meetings and travel; 2) Making travel arrangements; 3) Utilizing word processing software to electronically retrieve, review and finalize correspondence. 4) Utilizing financial software for processing of labor and operating budget expenses. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Education
