About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation. Duties

Drains and changes lubricants small engines such as lawn mowers, gas edgers, boat motors. Lubricates equipment and replaces oil and air filters, maintains battery levels as appropriate. Changes hoses, spark plug wires, rotors, bearings, bearings, charging units, break assemblies, steering assemblies, starters, motor relays, throttle controls, carburetors, etc., on a variety of outdoor recreation equipment. Diagnoses malfunctions of equipment to determine the source of trouble and to determine the extent of repairs required, including electrical systems, geared units, and components. According to manufactures' manuals or personal experience, tears down, adjusts, repairs, reassembles and runs operations checks on equipment. Uses a limited amount of test equipment such as an electronic multimeter, battery hydrometer, battery cell tester, etc. Uses a limited amount of mechanical hand tools such as grinders, sanders, hammers, chisels, wrenches, sockets, rivet guns, air power tools and air compressors, etc. Maintains the inventory of parts and equipment used in the maintenance of rental equipment and may assist with end-of-month inventory. Maintains maintenance logs on all equipment repaired, annotating manhours, materials, and date of repair. Based on these records, determines bench stock required and maintenance schedules. Maintains hazardous materials in accordance with Safety and HAZMAT requirements. Cleans and maintains boating equipment in working order. Waxes and washes and cleans boats, canoes, ski boats, catamarans, campers, etc. Performs minor repairs such as changing worn carpeting, removing, and replacing seats. Maintains boat trailers in proper order by ensuring rust prevention maintenance is conducted, sanding and repainting metal as needed and ensuring tires are properly inflated. Properly connects trailer hitches carrying boats, barbeque grills, dunking booth, etc., are attached to customer's vehicles correctly. Connects wiring for brake lights and checks to ensure they are in proper working order. Instructs patrons in all phases of safety regulations concerning the use of boats and motors. Maintains the base picnic area a proper and safe working order. Cleans grounds of trash, ensures bathrooms are clean and stocked, and replaces light bulbs. Repairs and/or paints picnic tables when needed. Repairs swimming pool vacuums and slides used at the base pools. Maintains the base swimming pool areas by storing pool furniture during the winter and putting it out in the summer. Ensures pool equipment is in good repair by inspecting items regularly. Ensures the paint ball court is clean and barriers are maintained properly. Disassembles and cleans paint ball equipment as needed. May assist working the front desk in the absence of the Recreation Aid in collecting fees for rental equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a variety of outdoor equipment such as lawn mowers, rotor tillers, and electric and gas powered edgers, paintball equipment, etc. Experience must have provided a thorough knowledge of and the ability to test and troubleshoot components and systems, interpret, and apply manufacture's repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics, diagnostic codes, safety manuals. Must have experience in the operation of electronic test equipment and a variety of hand tools. Must have experience in servicing fluid levels (oil, gas, batteries, etc.) in mechanical equipment such as in lawn mowers, rotor tillers and boats. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must be able to successfully pass a physical examination. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to provide a copy of current driving record. This is a Position of Trust and requires the employee to satisfactory complete a Tier 1 Background Investigation. This is a drug testing designated position. Education
