THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for aSUPV HR SPEC , Position Description Number PDD1025000 and is part of theSC HRO, South Carolina National Guard.

Duties

This position is located in a State Human Resources Office that has responsibility for servicing both Army and Air National Guard full-time personnel. Its purpose is to serve as a supervisor of Human Resources Specialist(s) and Human Resources Assistant(s). Supervises a minimum of five full-time employees. Supervises two or more other major segments e.g. classification, recruitment and placement, employee relations, labor relations, etc. Serves as a Human Resources advisor and technical specialist for one specific HR specialty.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Area 1 Only. Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard *Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experiences gained through civilian and/or military technical training schools within the human resources business programs are included as general experience qualifications. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experiences that prepared the applicant to perform the duties of the position. The applicant's accredited educational-degree study program; or other military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. An applicant must demonstrate the following specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a position identified by its applicable position grade and career level. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment. 2. Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies. 3. The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial vehicles to perform temporary duty assignments.

Education

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma is required. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is desired. A graduate degree from an accredited civilian academic college or from an equivalent professional military education school is optimum.
