Duties

You will perform installations, add, move, change and modify cable infrastructure. You will provide Quality Control (QC) services for the installation of cable plant facilities. You will inspect completed work, tests as appropriate. You will demonstrate to team members the proper work methodology and techniques to accomplish the assigned work. You will lead a team of 4 workers in the performance of maintenance, repair, relocation, modification and installation of outside equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You must obtain and maintain a BICSI Technician (TECH) Certification within 1 year.
  • You must possess a valid state vehicle operator license.
  • You must obtain and maintain a Confined Space certification.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You are required to sign an agreement not to disclose, in any manner sensitive/Classified information to unauthorized persons.
  • Must have normal vision with/without corrective devices and be able to distinguish colors and shades of colors while making cable connections.
  • Must be able to lift/carry items weighing up to 35lbs unassisted.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to lead/supervise others who perform common tasks including diagnosing telecommunication malfunctions by means of visual examination, electrical testing and operating knowledge of equipment.
