About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as a Public Affairs Specialist located at Rock Island, Illinois.

Duties

Track legislation of interest to the Command through the legislative process. Provide analysis of legislative proposals that effect Command goals. Convey information to garner support and influence Congressional opinion. Develop and execute plans to disseminate written and oral information. Develop official responses to ensure the reply answers the inquiry.

Requirements

Tracking legislation throughout the legislative process; Making recommends to expedite the processing of actions; Monitoring congressional news; 2. Assisting with developing responses to congressional inquiries; 3. Compiling responses to questions asked by Congress on Commands behalf; And 4. Preparing action officers for engagements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
