The U.S. Army Contracting Command was established on March 14,2008. The mission is to oversee more than $85 billion in contracts annually and focus on maintaining and improving the Army's ability to respond globally in support of the warfighter's needs.
Duties
Serve as a Procurement Analyst with responsibility to develop source selection plans for complex acquisitions of high priority/high visibility defense supply and service requirements.
Develop detailed procurement and production plans for complex materiel support of long and mid-range logistics plans.
Recommend changes in policies and relationships with a view toward obtaining maximum effectiveness in coordination and control.
Review, studies and interprets policies and procedures and their relationship to assigned mission and functions.
Recommend and assists in developing and implementing new contracting approaches and innovative ideas to achieve contract solutions.
Utilize Business Intelligence and other automated systems for statistical and other reports on aspects of Contracting Life Cycle.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Foundational Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- This position requires submission of a Financial Disclosure Report OGE-450 upon entry and annually thereafter.

Basic Education Requirement for 1102 Series:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) from an accredited educational institution. (Note You must submit unofficial college transcripts with your application. (Transcript must clearly show the degree was awarded/conferred, the date the degree was earned, and the name of the College/University).
OR
Exemption: You are exempt from the education requirements above if (A) you are a current civilian employee in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000; OR (B) you are a current military member who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 on or before September 30, 2000.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience:To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Utilizing acquisition processes to translate requirements into contracts; AND 2) Providing customer service to obtain compliance with small business policies; AND 3) Communicating with senior leaders to resolve complex issues regarding acquisition policy and/or regulations.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
