You will serve as a Critical Power Project Leader in the Shore Department/Utilities and Energy Engineering Technical Area of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.

Duties

You will keep abreast of technological developments in Critical Power systems, with emphasis on operations and maintenance and life cycle evaluations to recommend solutions that ensure safety and effectiveness are maintained. You will provide team leadership to in-house experts and field team members. You will serve as the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) on a multiple award Critical Power Contract developing performance work statements, government estimates, serve on selection panels and maintain contract files. You will interface with various customers to determine their electrical power requirements, and develop and implement technical solutions to those requirements. You will adapt existing electrical distribution systems to meet the needs of the activity. You will prepare non-routine and complex equipment specifications to meet planned and projected requirements. You will provide program/project briefings to chain of command, base engineering personnel and management personnel as needed.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
