The primary purpose of this position is: To exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing trades and labor work in the Environmental Management Control Systems (EMCS) office, responsible for the operation, installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and programming of highly complex electronic direct digital systems to include electronic sensing, operational control of heating, ventilation, air conditioning.

- Emergency overtime may be required
- Shift work may be required
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station
- Some work is sedentary, and some requires walking, standing, and climbing stairs and ladders. It may also require moderate bending, lifting and carrying loads weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as working areas difficult to access
- Work will be performed indoors in office-like settings and industrial areas. Some outdoors work will require moderate exposure to cold and hot temperatures including inclement weather conditions
- Employee will support mobility or logistics readiness center operations in an exercise or contingency situation
- This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations
- Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600, Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Group, Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic, 2606 series. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision.

6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
