As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as Supervisory Engineering Technician (Aerospace) and Facility Security Coordinator.

Duties

Directs the work of subordinate employees in a Line Station Maintenance Subteam, who perform line maintenance work on the agency’s fleet of aircraft. These employees are responsible for routine implementation of maintenance procedures and practices to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards, Federal Aviation Regulations, and engineering specifications pertaining to Part 135 Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, and Alterations, Part 145 Repair Stations and maintenance program.

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.
  • Applicant must possess an FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • A physical may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this FV-I (FG/GS-13) position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H (FG/GS-12) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes directing and coordinating resources to provide maintenance on aviation platforms, experience in oversight of aircraft/avionics maintenance program in accordance with established standards, policies, practices and procedures and/or experience leading maintenance technicians in achieving goals and objectives of an aircraft maintenance program.ANDIn addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a selective factor for this position. This means possession of this criterion is part of the minimum qualifications and is essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Applicants who do not possess this criterion are ineligible for further consideration.SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR (SPF): Applicants must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate AND must possess and document experience working in the following: 14 CFR Part 121 and/or 135 and/or 145 Certified Air Carrier or Repair Station environment.ALSOQUALITY RANKING FACTOR (QRF):Well-qualified applicants must possess and document experience on at least one of the following aircraft: Beechcraft King Air 90 or 300 series or Bombardier CL-600 series.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
