About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with the 7th Signal Command Operation Center located in Fort Meade, Maryland.
Duties
Responsible for the actions necessary to secure and defend the CONUS DoD Information Network and effectively use the Army Enterprise Infostructure (AEI) architecture and associated infrastructure and information systems assigned to the command.
Review various reports and task orders to provide mission impact, maintain situational awareness, assign/adjust priorities, direct workflow, and ensures sponsorship within the command.
Ensure that total systems requirements are identified and documented.
Introduce modern information technologies to optimize capabilities, assimilates information and processes necessary to the planning and interoperability of all army Warfighter information systems.
Obtain and presents information, interprets technical program requirements, and resolve problems on matters of mutual concern.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- This position is designated as Key. For positions located within the Continental US (CONUS), the position cannot be vacated during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission.
- This position may require the incumbent to work during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
- Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by providing status reports or information regarding information system networks to management personnel; interpreting network security requirements or modifying network device configurations to maintain security compliance; preparing reports and delivering intelligence briefing for the organization; and assisting in the development of new methods in network infrastructure design, implementation, or administration.
