Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level defined as analyzing administrative policies; developing and implementing procedures for internal operations; and overseeing office budgets and resources.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which impact administrative programs and processes.
Skill in conducting and applying analytical and evaluative methods to improve administrative efficiency and effectiveness.
Skill in written communication sufficient to draft presentations or memorandums explaining various points of view.
Ability to direct a comprehensive support program by providing services necessary to the operation of the organization.
Skill in oral communication sufficient to present recommendations and negotiate solutions to administrative problems.
Knowledge of procurement, travel, and property management in order to direct a comprehensive support program.
Knowledge of budgetary regulations, policies, and procedures in order to maintain budgets, track expenditures and make projections.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
