About the Position: Incumbent responsible for execution of the physical security & law enforcement programs.
This position will be impacted by a Reduction In Force (RIF) within the next 3-5 years(subject to change), due to closure of the organization. Impacted employees will be assessed for all eligible RIF benefits should that occur.
Duties
Execute physical security and law enforcement programs to protect the installation against possible theft against unauthorized entry, espionage, sabotage, and subversion from both internal and external threats.
Develop policies, procedures, and methods for management of the depot law enforcement and security program to reduce internal/external threats to mission.
Conduct security management and compliance reviews.
Advise senior staff and other security representatives of security short falls that could impact operations.
Conduct comprehensive review and analysis of installation physical security plans, vulnerability assessments and threat assessments.
Responsible for providing first and second level supervision to ensure that an acceptable quality and quantity of work is produced.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within first two years of placement into the position.
- A one-year supervisory probationary period is required if not already met.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service which include: manage an organizational security program; safeguard personnel, property, assets, and/or material from theft, loss, misuse, fraud, espionage, or sabotage; advise security personnel on compliance of security regulations and procedures; develop guidance for security policy, procedures, techniques, and equipment across different levels of security controls. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
