Position is within the Air Traffic Organization, Technical Operations, and reports to the District System Support Centers. Incumbent serves as a Maintenance Mechanic that accomplishes routine and emergency repair, evaluation, and installation of buildings and structures, facilities, and grounds maintenance. Incumbent has working knowledge in at least one of the areas of carpentry, electrical, mechanical, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), or plumbing trades.
Duties
Incumbent works alone or in a group performing Mechanical, Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Cable Installation/Replacement, Welding/Metal Fabrication, Painting, Concrete work, etc.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Successful completion of a Background investigation may be required.
- Possession of appropriate State and Government vehicle operator's licenses or permits is required.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate that you are able to do the work of a Maintenance Mechanic under normal supervision; possess knowledge of the application of the following trade practice areas: carpentry, electrical, mechanical, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and/or plumbing trades.

Factor (QRF): Well Qualified Candidates will possess Journeyman/Masters license in any of the following trades: Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC which can significantly enhance performance in a position, but is not essential for
satisfactory performance.Physical Requirements: Considerable lifting of heavy materials and working tools, and extensive standing, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling are inherent in this position. Also, Incumbent will be working under variable conditions which require using protective clothing and gear, safety devices, and safe trade practices. Incumbent must be physically able to wear OSHA standard personal protective equipment (PPE) per 29 CFR. Selectee may need to pass a pre-employment physical prior to appointment.
