The Full Time Permanent Psychiatric Partial Hospital (PPH) Program Coordinator/Physician Assistant (PA) is in the Mental Health Service Line. The PPH program is an intensive Level 2 outpatient program that delivers highly specialized, complex, and professional mental health services and interventions for veterans in acute psychiatric distress or experiencing an exacerbation of chronic mental illness.

Duties

The Program Coordinator is responsible for triaging referrals from multiple medical and mental health clinics, including PPH, inpatient psychiatric wards, physical medicine and rehabilitation programs, primary care clinics, psychiatric urgent care, posttraumatic stress recovery clinic, addictive disorders services, and general mental health outpatient clinics. The incumbent has oversight of administrative and programmatic resources and responsibilities and is responsible for directing the activities of a multidisciplinary clinical team comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, clinical nurse specialists, nursing staff, and program clerks. Duties include directing, administering, and managing all aspects of the PPH program, including developing and implementing clinical programs in response to changing needs of the veteran population; comprehensive consultation to multiple referral sources; developing and implementing clinic policies and procedures; overseeing the type, quality and quantity of clinical services provided; setting program priorities; and establishing short and long range program goals and initiatives in an effort to meet the needs of a variety of veteran populations. Work Schedule: Monday thru Fridays, 8am-4pm

Physician Assistant Basic Requirements Master's degree in any discipline or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant ~AND~ Successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) (or are you in the process to taking the exam) ~AND~ Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia. Reference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-8 Physician Assistant Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office.
