About the Position: This position is located at the Personnel and Administration Department at 15th Medical Group (Hickam), which is on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii.
Advance in Hire may be authorized. This is only available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Duties
Assist the commander/director in the management of all administrative support program functions.
Act as the point of contact for all newly assigned personnel.
Propose alternate approaches to management to more efficiently operate programs.
Disseminate information concerning new or changed procedures/regulations.
Ensure unit program compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and squadron commander directives.
Develop and implement procedures to track program status and maintain program health.
Communicate requirements and provides guidance to squadron members.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement therefore the incumbent is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- Position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 10% of the time.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) preparing administrative reports; 2) utilizing various office automation software programs; AND 3) maintaining office files and records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business or Healthcare Administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
