The ideal candidate for this position will working for Region Three and will be building response operational plans that coordinate the resources of various governments needed to effectively implement disaster response activities in catastrophic incidents.

Qualifications
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for this position at the GS-9 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:
Assisting with developing and preparing emergency management policies and plans, procedures, and risk assessments; AND
Working in a team environment to achieve organizational objectives; AND
Using planning or project management tools to complete assigned work.
OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D, if related
OR
Combination of education and experience
To qualify for this position at the GS-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:
Assisting in developing, coordinating, and updating portions of response procedural plans; AND
Supporting projects and outreach programs with internal and external stakeholders; AND
Working in a team environment to achieve organizational objectives; AND
Using planning or project management tools to complete assigned work
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
OR
Combination of education and experience
