The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Logistics Plans and Integration senior logistics planner and primary technical expert on all aspects of the nuclear related logistics activities to include planning, deployment, and crisis management plans
Duties
As a technical expert, responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating all nuclear contingency, emergency, and deployments and receptions for HQ AFGSC.
Plans, coordinates, and organizes the NDO logistic planning activities of Plans and Integration Branch ensuring Directorate of Logistics and Engineering, Logistics Readiness Division, Barksdale AFB, LA complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Represents AFGSC with a variety of installation and functional area organizations regarding NDO and WRM logistics planning.
Serves as a senior command representative and spokesperson in communicating program matters.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Standards for Administrative and management Support Positions, General Schedule Logistics Mangement Series 0346
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Comprehensive knowledge of the theories and principles of logistics management through all project phases, NDO and NWRM processes. Thorough knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DoD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the nuclear logistics management program processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of DoD, Air Force and AFGC policy, doctrine, theoretical and practical concepts, fundamentals, and procedures relating to worldwide programs and planning in technically complex supply, transportation, mobility, packaging, airlift and sealift programs and operations with an emphasis on nuclear logistics arid operations. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations and recommend improvements. Knowledge of Logistics Readiness operations to plan and direct the activities in support national defense and AFGSC. Includes requirement to be knowledgeable of both automated and manual data systems. Knowledge and skill in adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of program effectiveness and/or organizational productivity. Knowledge of DoD nuclear weapons systems management and sustainment program goals, sequences of key nuclear weapons systems management and sustainment events and milestones, and methods of evaluating weapons systems management and sustainment.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Expert knowledge of the policies, regulations, and law concerning NWRM and logistics management processes and initiatives.
Mastery of logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluation NDO contingency support, logistics readiness deployment and execution, war reserve materiel management, base/expeditionary support, sustainment, redeployment, air terminal operations, and logistics command and control.
Knowledge of mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DoD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the nuclear logistics management program processes.
Skill in applying safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options concerning cargo movement and material management.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
