About the position: This position will be assigned to Mug's Cafe, inside of the Landings Club, on Dover Air Force Base.
As a FLEX employee, you may work anywhere between 0-40 hours per week, on an as needed basis.
Duties
The function of the organization where this position is located is in official functional statements. The purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of simple cooking tasks, and cashier. Prepares beverage and food items such as espresso drinks, coffee, blended drinks, cappuccino s, brewed coffee, lattes, hot chocolate, etc. Performs a full range of cooking tasks by preparing and cooking items such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers and fresh or canned vegetables. Performs duties which include, but are not limited to, the following: bakes, fries, boils, steams and stews meats, fish, and poultry. Prepares hot cereals, broiled meats; prepares and cooks concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies; makes cold sandwich fillings. Prepares convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets and chicken nuggets. Some cooks at this level prepare and bake pizza. Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring or breading; weighs, measures and assembles ingredients for regular menu items; sets up and replenishes salad bar; portions foods for distribution and meal service, and covers, dates and stores leftovers according to established procedures. Washes and cleans kitchen equipment. Operates point of sale system, rings up the sale, receives money and makes change, processes credit card sale, or charge to members' account. Satisfactorily completes end of day paperwork and balances drawer. Performs cashier duties as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete food handlers training.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in and knowledge of methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club, or similar food activity. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work safely, do simple arithmetic problems, and making change when receiving payments from customers. Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment, characteristics of various foods, and the ability to season food and decide when foods are done is required. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time. Must also have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, or other processing of cash items when this includes (1) direct handling of cash items, and (2) use of cash accountability control methods. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
