Duties

Develops, manages, maintains and administers the installation Outdoor Recreation Programs and facilities to include but not limited to recreation facilities, auto skills, arts and crafts Responsible for inventories and property; determines equipment condition; initiates maintenance, repair or replacement as appropriate. Recommends purchase/construction of equipment and facilities. Prepares appropriated and non-appropriated budgets and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations. Ensures proper procedures are used to ensure that no misappropriation of funds occurs and maintains effective internal controls. Integrates risk management, and installation and organization safety program requirements into everyday operations and activities. Supervises recreation, administrative support, and maintenance, indoor auto skills, arts and crafts staff.

Requirements

• Driver's license required.
• Rotating shifts to include weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Must be able to lift outdoor and/or recreation equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
• Must complete a Physical Exam.
• Subject to a satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Directly related work experience that included the goals, principles, method of techniques, of outdoor recreation and understanding the interests of individuals and groups. Planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs. Work experience supervising support staff in outdoor recreation programs. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Highly Preferred: Preferred are those applicants that possess a professional certification in Recreation through National Recreation and Park Association.
