This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Office of Human Capital. The incumbent serves as a Human Resources Assistant and is responsible for customer support; supporting human capital policies and programs; and representing the Office in a professional and collaborative manner.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Human Resources Assistant, you will: Provide support for human capital programs through facilitating meetings and informational sessions, addressing customer inquiries, and developing a variety of resources and tools. Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout NARA, both interpersonally and in writing. Support the assessment of programmatic feedback by consolidating and maintaining customer and operational data for use by specialists and management officials. Conduct more basic research to provide general guidance to customers.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the GS-07 is one year at the level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes: Facilitating meetings and informational sessions, addressing customer inquiries, and developing a variety of resources and tools; OR Providing program and operational support to senior level specialists; OR Collecting, consolidating, and summarizing necessary data, reports, and information sources. Specialized experience for the GS-06 is one year at the level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes: Providing program and operational support to senior level specialists; OR Collecting, consolidating, and summarizing necessary data, reports, and information sources. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-07, you must have been at the GS-06 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-06, you must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks.
