About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable. This position is with 7th Signal Command, 21st Signal Brigade, 56th Signal Battalion, located at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

Duties

Serve as project manager on assigned multifunctional logistics projects from initialconcept through final acceptance and inspection. Prioritize activities and assembles resources to ensure timely completion of projects, applying concepts and methodologies required for effective project management and customer relationship management. Maintain a supply inventory through requisition and within budget constraints and makes recommendations for requisition of spare parts. Coordinate directly with the Property Book Office (PBO)for prompt, proper, and accurate disposal of both excess serviceable and unserviceable equipment. Review Financial Liability Investigations for Property Loss (FLIPL), Statements of Charges (SC), and Cash Collection Vouchers(CCV) for property which is lost, damaged, or destroyed IAW AR 710-4. Manage a variety of command logistical programs, such as Command Supply Discipline Program(CSDP). Recognize areas in which greater economy and efficiency appears possible and effects changes in operational procedures or policies, and logistical area support.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Position requires lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Incumbent of this position must maintain a valid driver's license and operate a government vehicle.
  • Position IT access level is authorized(general user). Position sensitivity is non-critical sensitive.

This position is in the Professional Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by managing and maintaining a variety of Logistics management tools and automated systems; maintaing an inventory of repair parts using a self-designed or off-the-shelf database; monitoring and tracking all accountable property in various supply pipelines, ensuring arrival dates and dispersing throughout the command's area of operations.
