The VA Loma Linda Facility Management Service is recruiting for a Mason. The Mason performs maintenance, repairs, applications, and installation of a variety of structures, surfaces of concrete, plaster, and stucco throughout the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System.

Duties

Duties include but not limited to: Repairs and makes alterations to masonry walls by demolishing existing construction where necessary and installing new brick, concrete block, tile and/or structural sidewalks. Mix mortar according to job requirements. Mixes and applies scratch, brown and white coats of plaster to repair existing and finish new walls and ceilings. Performs cement finishing duties when work is required as part of the maintenance and alterations program. Use a variety of hand and power tools such as brick or napping hammer, brick or skill saw in cutting and shaping brick and axe, pick, chisel, and hammer in cutting or shaping stone. Work requires continual standing, walking, climbing, and bending. Ladders, scaffolds, swing stages and platforms are sued to provide access to work on interiors and exteriors of buildings.
