About the Position: This position is located at Lower Monumental Lock & Dam which is located on the Lower Snake River near the rural community of Kahlotus, WA. The project lies within commuting distance from several other communities of varying sizes. There is a full-service area known as the Tri-Cities that incorporates Kennewick, Pasco and Richland, WA which is approximately a 50-mile commute.

Duties
Use personal computer, word processing software, and printing hardware to finalize correspondence, technical reports, and other related documentation from rough, handwritten drafts or rough drafts retrieved from the local area network (LAN).
Operate microcomputer to electronically store, retrieve, and print a variety of standardized documents, developing appropriate formats, letters, form letters, standard paragraphs, and mailing lists.
Use advanced computer applications including Microsoft Access and Excel to develop databases and spreadsheets to compile project reports for use by management both locally and at higher headquarters.
Utilize PowerPoint and other graphics programs to develop supporting materials for presentations.
Post timekeeping records insuring hours worked and absences are recorded in accordance with existing regulations and that charges to various cost accounts are appropriate and accurate.
Perform receptionist duties for public visitation and internal customers including greeting visitors and answering telephones.
Assist with a wide variety of personnel management issues and perform a variety of administrative tasks relating to the operation and maintenance of a multi-purpose hydroelectric project.

- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: work performing a variety of administrative support functions which includes the use of office automation software (word processing, spreadsheet, and databases); retrieval, update and storage of electronic data; preparing, editing and formatting documents and reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
