You will serve as a Supply Technician in the Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic (FRMCA) Detachment Patuxent River, MD of FRC DET MIDLANT PAX RIVER MD MPN. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service

Duties

You will ensure the overall supply/material support satisfies the material and repair parts needs and accountability requirements for the Supply Equipment Division. You will expedite and edit all material necessary to support the Supply Equipment Division's maintenance and equipment readiness mission. You will track the status of material and repair parts expenditures, and report to the Supply Equipment Division Manager, Supply Equipment Division Work Leads, and Budget Analyst as necessary. You will manage material and repair parts to ensure they are properly packaged, protected, persevered and ready for issue. You will identify supplies, spare parts and material required for maintenance.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-6) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is performing technical supply support work to ensure the effective operation of ongoing supply activities, which support the repair, maintenance, and/or production work. Specialized experience must include the following: 1) Screening incoming orders for correctness and validity, 2) Utilizing automated systems to provide supply support, track transactions, and materials. 3) Maintaining documentation related to a purchasing agent for tracking and reconciliation, 4) Communicating technical supply issues orally and in writing; and 5) Managing supply inventory and maintaining controls in accordance with policy and procedures.
