As a Senior Funding Specialist, you will:
Identify, analyze, and resolve issues that may conflict with changing regulations, past precedents, current policies, and procedures.
Receive assignments through the Division Director or Branch Chiefs and independently perform the funding control functions for the office, monitor expenditures and balances, and prepare funding requests with appropriate explanation and guidance.
Draft correspondence to request additional funding or transfers in subcategories, or to obtain clarification.
Serve as a team lead/mentor with other Funding Specialists on relevant special projects and tasks assigned by the Asset Management Division Directors or Branch Chiefs.
Develop and conduct training for staff and stakeholders on all aspects of the funding processing.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Processing, maintaining and tracking of funding assignments for multifamily housing programs; AND
-Interpreting and applying laws, regulations, and precedents applicable to funding; AND
-Independently and proactively identifying issues that could cause a delay in the receipt of funding at the project level and initiating prompt corrective action and intervention.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
