About the Position: This position is located within the Medical Information Systems department at 633rd MDG JBLE Langley. The primary purpose of this position is to provide skilled computer assistance and support in the administration of Medical Group computer systems.
Duties
Monitor ongoing operation of network systems to ensure hardware and software are functioning properly and that operational standards are met.
Perform life cycle management of devices from receiving to disposition.
Provide technical assistance to users of systems to minimize computer disruptions.
Monitor trouble tickets submitted by customers.
Install programs to test of system releases and/or computer upgrades.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. Incumbent will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
- This position may include Information Assurance (IA) work as an additional duty. Per DoD 8570.01-Mthe recipient of this additional duty must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring network systems to ensure proper operation of hardware and software systems, providing troubleshooting assistance, and utilizing automated systems for data tracking. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
