About the Position: This position is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD CECOM G8 business hours will be between 7am-5pm (Team Leads are expected to work during that period) This is a telework eligible position according to CECOM policy.
Duties
Knowledgeable in the concepts, principles, laws and regulations of budgeting and accounting for Defense Travel System (DTS) program, Government Travel Credit Card (GTCC) program, and the Government Purchase Card (GPC) program.
Assist the branch chief with managing the DTS, GTCC, and GPC programs for the CECOM Command.
Serves as a Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA) for CECOM.
Oversee the DTS Debt Management Monitor (DMM) for CECOM.
Maintains and manages automated and manual systems for receiving and processing reports and documents received from DTS.
Prepares statistical data for comparison/trend analysis purposes and provides data as directed by the Chief Financial Accounting Division and Travel and System Management Branch Chief.
Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinates the preparation, presentation, and communication of work-related information to the supervisor.
Assigns daily duties in support of the branch chiefs’ guidance and serves as the acting branch chief upon their absence.
Notifies DTS Tier 2 help desk to resolve complex issues.
Manages the digital repository for all financial systems request (e.g., DD577s, DA 2875s, and Delegation of Authority).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines.
- Secret Security clearance required.
- 1 year probationary period.
- TDY up to 25 %.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-12) which includes 1). Identifying problem areas and determining corrective action regarding the Defense Travel System (DTS), Government Travelcard (GTCC), and/or GPC programs; Maintaining and managing the DTS system reports; Preparing statistical data for comparison/trend analysis; Analyzing problems and assisting with resolutions related to Debt Management Monitor (DMM) control.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12/NH-02).
