About the Position: This position is located at Fort Sam Houston, in beautiful and historic San Antonio and is within easy commuting distance of desirable neighborhoods and excellent school systems. San Antonio offers mild winters, low cost of living, and no personal state income tax. Ft. Sam civilians enjoy use of post recreation facilities i.e. fitness centers, golf course, bowling alley, outdoor rec areas, auto craft shop, equestrian center and on Post Dining Facilities.
Duties
Principle staff officer and subject matter expert responsible for developing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the status of the Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP), Physical Security and Defense Critical Infrastructure (DCIP) Programs.
Conduct test procedures to disseminate time-sensitive terrorist threat information during duty and non-duty hours to staff.
Responsible for the management, analysis and implementation of US Army South Antiterrorism (AT) operations program.
Develop guidance on techniques for management and methods of improvement; and develops orders covering a wide variety of garrison AT operations as well as other aspects of Antiterrorism operations of deployed forces.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance.
- In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential".
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
- This position may require 7-day workweek, and extended duty days may be required.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assure the organization is in compliance with programs, administrative policies, and regulations; 2) Provide input for crisis management plans that will lead to giving guidance on reacting to terrorist attacks; 3) Assist with internal management controls to identify resource requirements, indications of problem areas, and procedures needing improvement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
