This position serves as the Director of Ancillary Services for the Pawnee Indian Health Center located in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Incumbent plans, directs and coordinates the operations and fiscal functions of the ancillary service programs for the Pawnee Indian Health Center. Ancillary services include Laboratory, Radiology, Audiology, Pharmacy, Nutrition, Health Education, and Optometry departments. The incumbent will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Duties

Responsible for the strategic planning and oversight of the ancillary services. Supervises the departmental heads in Laboratory, Radiology, Audiology, Optometry, Pharmacy as well as the Nutritionist and the Health Educator. Plans, directs and implements programmatic changes and expansions, in accordance with IHS policy, accreditation requirements, and legislature. Serves as an administrative liaison to the Clinical Director, Chief Executive Officer, and the Chief Operating Officer. Provides administrative support to staff and serves as a patient advocate to resolve issues in the ancillary services. Ensures adequate staffing and resources are available throughout the ancillary services to meet the patient needs. Provides clinical services within his/her scope of practice.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector. Examples include directing and coordinating the clinical functions of two or more healthcare departments, such as, but not limited to: an ambulatory care clinic, ambulatory pharmacy, nursing, specialty clinic such as audiology or optometry, ambulatory laboratory or ambulatory radiology. Your experience must have included the day-to-day oversight of various clinical, budgetary, and administrative functions which act in concert to provide health services in an efficient, coordinated fashion. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
