This position part of the Gateway National Recreation Area (GATE) Facilities Division and may be located in either the Sandy Hook (Highlands, NJ), Staten Island (Staten Island, NY) or the Jamacia Bay (Brooklyn, NY) unit. Final location will be negotiable after selection.

Duties
Determine resource requirements, materials, number of employees and the types of skill necessary to accomplish work schedules that include Preventative and Correct Maintenance needs.
Provide information and advice to higher level supervisors, management officials, and staff organizations on feasibility of work assignments, budget estimates, and workload data to assist in developing or reviewing proposed long-range schedules and work requirements.
Assign and explain work requirements and operating instructions to subordinates and set deadlines and establish the sequence of work operations to be followed.
Evaluate work operations and review completed work and inspection reports to assure that standards are met.
Utilize FBMS Fleet Module to generate work orders to correctly allocate charges.
Approve leave for direct reports, initiate personnel actions, and conduct annual performance appraisals.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability to Lead or Supervise (JE73) (SCREENOUT):
The ability to lead or provide first level supervision in an equipment maintenance shop including: planning and prioritizing work for personnel, determining resource requirements and preventative and corrective maintenance needs, soliciting pricing quotes for supplies, conducting performance appraisals and developing budget estimates and project plans.
